Guleriya, January 19, 2017 - The United States International Development Agency (USAID) commemorates the completion of the commercial literacy improvement program, which is part of the US government's plan to raise its future plans in Nepal. A three-year $ 4 million project was offered to more than 51,000 people in Nepal. More than 90% of them are women, many of whom are from poor areas.
Over the past five years, more than 37,000 project participants have started or expanded business such as vegetable cultivation, poultry, livestock industry and other retail stores. This project also founded a women's group to allow women to access credit and save money. By the end of the project, more than two-thirds of the participants and their families showed improvements in health, nutrition and education.
At the end of the project, there will be more than 2,000 trainers as resources in the community. This project is closely collaborated with the Nepalese government and is being implemented in rural areas in 20 regions, allowing rural families to improve agricultural practices, participate in market activities and official markets.

The skills of Empower Generation for women in rural areas not only manage their own business but also help them to gain confidence and awareness and thus take on other leadership roles. Twenty years later, the Nepalese government decided to implement local elections and encourage women to participate in this task to create a better gender balance. Five women entrepreneurs from our distribution network are running to local offices. Two people won the election: Chhaya Devkota is currently deputy mayor of Bhanjani, Gita Pariyar is now a word member of Taklung in the Gorkha district.
