In today's society, people also include stereotypes to generalize certain groups, such as religion, beliefs, even people who discriminate because of race, sex, or appearance. When stereotypes appear between men and women, they are called gender stereotypes. According to Beere (1990), the stereotypes of sex are strict and simplistic, too overly generalized beliefs, or "viewpoints of people, things, activities or concepts" based on assumptions about character and gender It is expressed as. In today's society, people also include stereotypes to generalize certain groups, such as religion, beliefs, even people who discriminate for race, sex, or appearance. Stereotypes can be very harmful and unfair things. The stereotype of gender exists from the very beginning, and still stands out very much today. When I was a boy, I brought the idea that boys are strong, active, leaders, girls are weak, passive, and believers. My mother made it clear that my sister and me can not accept sports for young women. A young lady must play with a doll and play at home. Whenever I grow up, whenever we play, my friends and I get together to play the house; Steve is the father of work, Kelsey is my daughter, I am a housewife. Even when I was young, women are depicted as housewife, cooking and cleaning, and men go to work and take home "bacon" home.
Since today's society still has a stereotype of gender, I do not believe that we have achieved gender equality. Gender stereotype is a general variable, and many theories and arguments are proposed in the field of communication. However, research on possible relationships between these two variables is considerably short. Therefore, research is trying to verify the relationship between gender stereotype and movie. We will investigate the existence, composition and importance of gender stereotype in social life. Key concepts in this study were classified as gender stereotypes
Gender stereotypes are widely studied in American society. The stereotype of gender is "a belief widely believed in gender characteristics, behavior, and role" (Endendijk, 2013, pp. 1). According to another journal of economic survey, stereotype refers to assigning characteristics to members of a specific group based on membership within the group (Grossman, 2013). Gender stereotypes are an idea to promote the role of gender such as expectation of women at home and men's expectation outside the home. There is always an unusual family that does not follow the gender fixed idea, but the role as a whole is universalized in society.
