Post colonial theory is a historical critique to examine the long-term influence of colonialism by studying former colonial literature. Marxist's criticism thinks that literature is a product of social class using Marx's theory
In our course we will introduce some of the major thinkers and moves of literary criticism and theory from the mid-20th century to the present. By doing so, we will consider how critical theory provides various lenses and tools to explain literature, thereby enhancing literary understanding, writing and teaching. For this purpose, we are committed to understanding various criticisms and theories such as post structureism, semiotics, crossover, Queer theory, post colonial theory and so on. When we do this work, students are introduced to important critics such as Gloria Anzar Dua, Homibaba, Rollmulvey, Barbara Christian, Jean Baulyard, Gayatriz Pi Bak.
