Current scenario of job market in Bangladesh for business graduates

A spokesperson said in a seminar held in Dhaka yesterday, the imbalance between the domestic education system and the demands of the employment market led to an increase in unemployment.
They observed that many new graduates increase the number of unemployed youth each year.

Hussein Khalid, president of the Dhaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI) said, "The number of unemployed people is increasing in Bangladesh."
In Bangladesh, almost half of the graduates are entering the job market each year, but Khaled added that it is difficult to get the jobs similar to their work field, the rest are unemployed.
According to a special report of the internationally famous British magazine "The Economist", 47% of Bangladeshi graduates are currently unemployed.
Ahmed Sheikh Asif, State Director of LIM-Leadership in International Management, said in his keynote speech, "Employers are unlikely to find appropriate university graduates, and university graduates do not need to acquire the skills they need" Said.
Ashif said there is a gap in education and learning, inadequate curriculum, workplace mismatch.
He also said that applicant's English literacy, computers, communication, problem solving, and entrepreneurial skills are very low.
He added that his goal is to increase employment opportunities for students, enhance employability, cooperate with government and industry, and introduce their own education and awareness model to create employment in key areas .
Trade consultants are proposing several development areas such as ICT, alternative energy, hydropower, road and rail infrastructure, tourism, manufacturing industry, low price housing.
Speaking about political violence, Mr. Haled said, "There is a big opposition in Bangladesh, but the main challenge for accelerating growth is to maintain political stability and to solve the remaining uncertainties" Said.
