Everyone talks about style, but no one explains it. The author of this book did it; by doing so they motivate the reader to think about the style in the center of it, not as an elegant accessory for effective prose.
What if I do not have the writing skills? If only people have learned the principles of word correctness, then the basic rule is not good prose running? Thomas and Turner said no. Rules that follow grammar, meaning, and sentence structure are no longer effective prose any more than knowing that the mechanism of golf swing is connected to the hole.
