For over a decade, the reader was led to think that the style is not its elegant accessory for effective prose, but its core. Francis-NoëlThomas and Mark Turner think that writing does not passively apply language skills but rather intellectual activities. In classical style motivation is truth, purpose is to express, reader and writer are same as intellectuals, and opportunities are informal. This general presentation style is everywhere, from business notes to private letters, journal articles to student articles. Everyone talks about style, but no one explains it. The author of this book did it; by doing so they motivate the reader to think about the style in the center of it, not as an elegant accessory for effective prose.
What if I do not have the writing skills? If only people have learned the principles of word correctness, then the basic rule is not good prose running? Thomas and Turner said no. Rules that follow grammar, meaning, and sentence structure are no longer effective prose any more than knowing that the mechanism of golf swing is connected to the hole. In addition, as Thomas and Turner pointed out, there are many different standard styles, and better 10-tiered plans to write worsen the problem.
The book is divided into four parts. The first "classic style principle" defines a style and contrasts with other styles. "Museum of Art" is a tour guide through a writing example that is both sophisticated and feasible. "The Studio" is a new member of this edition and shows a series of structured exercises. Finally, "Read more on Classic Prose" introduces time, location, and other examples of excerpts from the subject. The companion web site classicprose.com offers supplemental examples, exhibits, reviews, and uses Clear and Simple as textbooks to provide select carefully selected student studies written in the process of truth.
Francis-NöelThomas is an emeritus professor of humanities in Truman College, City College of Chicago. Mark Turner is a research professor at Case Western Reserve University and a professor of cognitive science.
"Truth is a great job of grace and power of knowledge, so it's clear and simple, I'm very happy to be able to read it." "The Elements of Style of Strunk & White", the most famous book, A detailed list of methods is posted and it is recommended not to do it. Capsules may be useful but in order to learn everything you still do not know how Francis Noel Thomas and Mark Turner took clear and simple and completely different approach ... enough for anyone to write advice"

Consider the gradation between the normal style and the classic style. "Fact is pure and simple" is a simple style. "The fact is almost pure and it is not simple at all" is a classic style. The simple version contains many classic style elements instead of classics, and the classic version includes all the regular versions, not regular ones. The classic style is based on the assumption that a normal style already exists and introduces improvements, qualifications or meditation to a regular version in order to make it classic. This classic writer thinks that the truth may be useful to everyone, so I would like to distinguish it from other writers, but that is not a common property of ordinary people. Therefore, since the classic style is not depressed by mood, it presents smart as a shining display, so the classic style employs a better attitude than the ordinary style. Although I would like to get a classic style, the classic style is not a natural donation, but anyone who sees himself as an intellectual achievement
