Studies involving participants experiencing uncomfortable circumstances can cause moral, social, and political problems (Schwartz, 2001). This created a new research field called research ethics. Research ethics is often interested in analyzing the ethical issues that arise when people are used as the subject of such research. Research ethics requires applying the necessary ethical practices to various topics including scientific research. Many experiments were brought into the so-called internal review committee.
In psychological ethics, social psychologists have to be vigilant in the experimental process. However, we all know that there are many famous social psychology experiments lacking moral support, such as from Little Albert to Stanford Prison Experiment. Although these experiments are immoral, regardless of their reputation, we seem to have gained us a position in the field of social psychology by providing tremendous information to us. Did these experiments show us the ugly fact that moral factors are hindering the quest for truth?
The foundation of humanitarian psychology (humanism) is that people are born in good faith. This psychology can be thought of as a result of deviations from natural tendencies, morality, moral values, and goodwill is the driving force of action, adverse social or psychological experiences. Humanism emerged as a "third force" in psychology in the late 1950's, in response to several important restrictions that psychologists believe to be behavioristic and psychoanalytical schools. Behaviorism is often criticized for human consciousness and character, and lack of attention to certainty, mechanics, and excessive dependence on animal experiments. Psychoanalysis has been dismissed because of emphasis on the amount and certainty of unconsciousness and ability
Today, morality is widely used and is seen as the first thing about experiments. But then, what is the definition of psychological ethics? From the British Psychology Association, psychological ethics is set to the highest level of professionalism, and I would like to provide ethical standards to all people. These ethics provide all major psychologists with four key principles: Respect, ability, responsibility, and integrity (British Psychological Society, 2009). Ethical principles of the American Psychological Association are also widely used ethical principles. In the Code of Conduct, APA states that ethics is about ten parts, namely ethical issues, ability, human relationships, efforts to privacy and confidentiality obligations, advertisements and other declarations, records and fees, education and training, research and publication , Evaluation and treatment (American Psychological Association, 2010)
