If we can implement a smarter supply chain solution with a focus on clarifying product requirements, we can deal more effectively with potential shortages. The standard supply chain begins with the procurement of raw materials from suppliers. The main goal here is to purchase raw materials from suppliers at the lowest possible cost. As a result, large orders of large quantities of materials are produced. Excess stock of raw materials is kept in the warehouse until the manufacturer can use it. Therefore, the production goal is focused on reduction of unit price by mass production operation, exchange of machines and reduction of standardization of products. At the end of these manufacturing runs, you need to ship the finished goods stock for storage in a 3PL warehouse before selling it to retailers and end customers. In this paper, we consider three raw material usage models. First, it may be that each customer order requires its own unique type of ingredients. In that case, there is no mission decision on which order material to use for customer's order. As mentioned above, these problems can be modeled satisfactorily using the release date, so we will review them easily in later chapters. If all customer orders require a single common ingredient, a second simple raw material usage model will emerge. Although this setting seems to be somewhat theoretical, in an actual production environment, there may be only one of several available raw materials. For theoretical reasons, this case is very interesting as it is a basic exception. The case we explore can be solved in polynomial time. In fact, the best ordering order does not seem to depend on the arrival of raw materials.
