Abstract This paper aims to explain the role of culture in individual development throughout its life cycle. First of all, theoretical methods have been proposed for how the culture influences personal occurrence, from early anthropology to recent ecological cultural methods and cultural knowledge. Then, the discussion of culturally specific concepts about life cycle development focused on childhood, adolescence, adulthood and senile development. Finally, we will focus on selected areas of social development and report on recent research on subjective theory, value communication and intergenerational relations. These studies were discussed as part of a broader approach to interpersonal relationships in culture.
