Imperfection and Love in Blake’s ‘The Sick Rose’ and H.D.’s ‘Sea Rose’

William Black's poem "The Sick Rose" and H. D.'s poem "Sea Rose" all contain images of flawed roses, but their imperfections arise from different origins. They share the same theme of roses, use the sound elements of poetry and adopt a clear writing language, yet these elements create different tones and atmosphere in each poem. Black poems solve the relationship between roses and their insects, judging that the disadvantages of roses come from this relationship. In stark contrast to this, H.D. poetry searches for weaknesses in oceanic roses compared with ordinary roses, but the drawbacks of these roses are not the products of roses, but the products of nature.
William S. Black's "Sick Rose" is a very embarrassing poem and has many explanations, but Blake uses many images and effective metaphor. My first impression of this poem is that it is very negative, including elements that impair revenge and even murder. I want a poem about two lovers, one of which lies to their partner, and the other wants revenge. This poem is very contradictory, it is shown in the first line 'O Rose, you are sick. Roses symbolize beauty, romance, and love, which are very feminine images, but because they are said to be sick, I feel something is wrong soon.
Because everyone knows that William Black is the son of Virginian Wolf, their common feelings are not surprising. In Black poet "Rose of sickness" roses are symbol of trees. Worms infected with roses symbolize the plague of mites that kill roses and trees. The existence of worm / locust exists implicitly in the presence of roses / trees, or locust decomposes trees, as Jack Derrida says. The fact that the words "sick" and "rose" have four letters is important to the meaning of this poem, as black wrote 44 when he wrote. He has been sick for a while. His biographer, Simone de Beauvoir, said his parents often brought him roses during his illness. The worm escapes from the worm and speaks to him with mysterious words. That is why Black said that we all have to create our own myths or promote the myths of other people to us.
Finally, William Black's poem "Chic Rose" explains the fact that people lost the meaning of love and made them selfish and indifferent. Black said: "His dark secret love, your life will be destroyed" (Black, 539), it shows that love is a bad thing that love can destroy life. He also said, "Oh, Ross, you are sick! Invisible insects that fly at night" (Black, 539), becoming indifferent to loss of the meaning of love. Love and the love of others are weaker than the loved one. In terms of emotion, we absolutely do not have love. Even if we do this, it is for selfish purpose. Love is like a demon, destroying all the ways in the howling storm. Black therefore reflects that throughout this poem, everyone in the world is indifferent and no one cares about each other.
