This year marks the 50th anniversary of the civil rights law in 1964. Chapter 7 of the Act prohibits discrimination in the workplace based on race, skin color, gender, nationality, religion, age, disability, parental status, protected genetic information, pregnancy or sexual orientation . As a leader and employee of TIGTA, we will continue to strive to ensure a comprehensive work environment that is just and free of discrimination. In addition to supporting diversity, as leader of TIGTA, the Head of Functional Division and I am committed to supporting equality in the workplace, zero tolerance for sexual harassment, retaliation or all forms of discrimination. Federal law requires government agencies to provide a workplace that is not subject to any form of discrimination.
In the 1964 Civil Rights Act Chapter 7, we prohibit sexual harassment. This is also the behavior of those who were forbidden as defined by 5 USC. Section 2302, and under the Treasury Code of Conduct are specifically forbidden.
TIGTA will continue to provide information training on banning sexual harassment and respond promptly to allegations.
