Computer Science & Engineering Educational Mission and Goals
[2023-08-20 19:48:59]
The educational mission of computer science and engineering at the University of California at Irvine is to provide students with a comprehensive interdisciplinary computer science and engineering training. This is accomplished through the development and provision of courses that integrate the foundations of computer science, including hardware and software, and the application of engineering concepts, techniques and methods in computer system engineering and design.
(1) Establish efficient computer science and engineering professionals in industry, government and academia.
(2) Professional practice in computer system engineering and software system engineering
(3) Promote the development of innovative systems and solutions using integration of hardware and software.
(4) Promoting the design, research and implementation of products and services in the areas of computer science and engineering through strong communication, leadership and entrepreneurship
(The goal of the education plan is to help shape the aspects of the computer science and engineering of the curriculum, achieving these goals is the responsibility shared between the students and the UCI.
Analyze complicated calculation problems, determine the solution by applying calculation principle and other related fields.
Design, implement, and evaluate computing-based solutions to meet a range of computing requirements in a planning rules environment.
Recognize occupational responsibility based on legal and ethical principles and make judgment based on sufficient information in computing work
Effectively fulfill the role of a team member or leader involved in activities appropriate for the field of the program
Ability to identify and solve complex engineering problems by applying engineering, scientific and mathematical principles.
Ability to apply engineering to create solutions that meet specific needs, taking account of public health, safety and welfare, as well as global, cultural, social, environmental and economic factors.
In order to be able to identify ethical and professional responsibilities in engineering and make informed decisions, it is necessary to consider the impact of engineering solutions in global, economic, environmental and social environments.
A team that works effectively. Members will work together to create leadership, build a coordinated and comprehensive environment, set goals, plan tasks, and achieve goals.
Ability to develop and implement appropriate experiments, analyze and interpret the data, and use engineering judgment to draw conclusions.
