Trafficking is a modern slavery, including the use of force, fraud or enforcement to gain some kind of labor or commercial sex.

Trafficking in person creates billions of dollars each year annually and is estimated to be secondary to drug trafficking. This is the most profitable form of multinational crime.
Trafficking is a hidden crime because of language barriers, fear of traffickers, and / or fear of law enforcement agencies. Victims rarely seek help.
Traffickers use force, fraud, or mandate to trick victims and force them to engage in labor or commercial sexual exploitation. They are looking for vulnerable people for a variety of reasons, such as psychological or emotional vulnerability, economic difficulties, lack of social safety net, natural disasters, political instability. Trauma by traffickers is so large that many people can not regard themselves as victims or ask for help, even in highly publicized places.
There are many myths and misunderstandings. Recognizing that the first step to identify the victim is an important indicator of trafficking can save lives. Not all of the indicators listed are present in all trafficking situations, and the existence of indicators is not necessarily evidence of human trafficking.
