Earlier this week, I met the Futures Working Group at Colorado Springs. This is a group of people interested in investigating future law enforcement agencies. This team is a compromise between law enforcement managers, military intelligence agents, federal agents, and scholars, established through a memorandum of understanding between the FBI and the futurist of international police.

I will start visiting the FBI's Department of Behavior Science Degree beginning in October and introduce the group's annual research subjects and goals to the FBI. What I want to do is to better understand the role and responsibility of law enforcement in bullying. In order to understand 'best practices' to deal with online harassment, we are planning to investigate law enforcement officials (especially school officials such as self-regulatory bodies and liaison officers). Based on my conversation with stakeholders over the past few years, I think there are many confusions about what they can do and what to do to prevent bullying. Obviously, online harassment is a major problem in the future of school violence and it is a major problem that law enforcement officials should guide.

These ideas have gained popularity from the group and I am looking forward to cooperate with them to discuss these issues next year. I will definitely post the latest information on the progress of the project here.
