Without a free agent there is no morality. There is little demand for virtue where there is no temptation. If the law strictly prohibits day-to-day operations, laws and unincorporated persons must have the advantage of that act. [William H. Prescott, "Conquer the history of Peru", 1847]
Universalism is synonymous with moral universalism, and the compromise between moral relativism and moral absoluteism. Utilitarian ethical theory of maintaining behavior is moral only if it maximizes welfare. This is a form of resultism and welfareism. Utopianism is a number of social and political movements based on the idea that heaven can be accomplished on the ground, as well as numerous religious and secular literature. See Utopia. Value pluralism thinks that there is a possibility that two or more moral values are the same (true), but there is a contradiction. In addition, in many cases, we assume that this incompatibility value can be reasonably uncommunicable. Therefore, value pluralism is a theory in meta ethics, not an ethical theory or a series of values itself. Isaiah · Berlin, a historian at Oxford University, was recognized as having completed the first substantial research on value pluralism, attracting the attention of the general academic circles.
Value can be thought of in a variety of ways, but discussion on pluralism can cover various kinds of moral theory. Traditionally, moral philosophers have recognized three different ways of moral thinking, a moral approach, a resultist approach, and a moral approach despite arguments about the strength of these distinctions . The term "value" appearing in "value pluralism" is neutral among these three theories. Moralists believe that morals are fundamentally moral principles. Therefore, whether moral theory is pluralism is the question of how many basic principles exist. On the contrary, the problem of diversity is how many basic items exist, as resultualism tends to see value, friendship, knowledge, beauty, and other products of the world accomplishment.
