In every community, people depend on the power and justice of the law to protect them. When guardians of law and order abuse power, it may bring tragedy to the town. In Arthur Mill's "Cruel", inappropriate action by Judge Danfoss, the voice of the community's authority brought about the tragedy of urban social turmoil accompanying the collapse of community solidarity. First, in the whole play, Judge Danfoss acts with pride and arrogance. Judge Danfoss at the beginning of the third act expressed the view on the continuation of the magic trial.
The Crucible's judges are Thomas Danforth and John Hathorne (the ancestor of Nathaniel Hawthorne). In the script, Samuel Seowole, the only judge who apologized for his role in killing, has been added. In addition to Danforth and Hathorne, the real judges are William Stoughton, John Richards, Nathaniel Saltonstall, Wait Winthrop, Bartholomew Gedney, Samuel Sewall, John Hathorne, Jonathan Corwin and Peter Sergeant. In Arthur Miller's play "chuurou", three characters, John Procter, Judge Danfoss, and Abigail Williams, highly appreciate their reputation. These characters of "Yuzyu" have a strong impression on how other people see the overall quality and character. Unfortunately, other characters in the play have to pay for bad behavior. John Proctor can do almost anything to maintain his reputation, he will do his best to lie to protect himself. John showed how he truly appreciated his reputation, especially in the last scene, the fourth act. John is trying to admit, and it admits, but he does not support it as Dan Force judge tells him to write a confession on a piece of paper and stick it to the door of the church. When Dan Force asked why he did not want to put it there, he answered suddenly. He said, "Because this is my name, I can not put other people in my life, I lied and lied and signed my life, leave my name "
