In this article, we compare The Monkey's Paw 'of W. W Jacobs and The Red Room of H. G Wells. I will study how the two writers produce suspense and mystery in the story. "Monkey no Tsume" is basically related to the feet and can be used to make a wish to the owner. Humorously, the White Family raised their first wishes without considering what happened in front of them, and they ignored that the result is disastrous. "Red House" is about a man who decided to prove that Lorraine Castle has no ghosts.
