Your Jesus Is Too Safe, by Jared Wilson

Jared Wilson is a pastor, writer, and participant of one of our favorite bloggers, The Thinklings. Phil reviewed his recently published book, "Your Jesus is too safe", but I would like to talk about some of that as well.
Given that it may be a guilty journey towards a deeper Christian life that only makes me irritated, in addition to having lots of things I already know, I have unexpectedly I picked it up. But I am profitably reading it very interestingly (almost like a novel).
In my opinion, Jesus' safety is a unified task that can approach two different directions (maybe more ... I may have overlooked something). For Christians, this is a brief explanation of our basic beliefs. It will develop into a challenge to organic growth from theology. I then gained a lot of benefits and gained new and important insights.
For non-Christian readers, this is a foolish Christian who presents the basic elements of our Biblical / theological point of view in plain language. (Maybe it is too easy to get in. This book will be of great use this year, it will be useful next year, but the topic's joke in 10 years will be obsolete.) Hi, I can call it a pure Christianity, but I am worried that it will not be as old as Lewis' book.
There are some differences. Wilson did not follow Lewis' guidance in avoiding sectarianism. This book is very direct to the Calvinists. As a Lutheran, I do not think he understands the value of the sacraments (which does not mean that he despises them, he only sees them through reformed glasses ). "My God, my God, why did you abandon me?" I found something very important in my spiritual life.
But after all, whether you are a Christian reader or a friend of Seeker, we recommend that your Jesus be safe. This is a wonderful achievement
The main point - If a certain type of person in your church feels uneasy, you can say that your church does not shape Jesus' heart. The degree of major attack on their continued interaction with them. An atheist who steps into a chaotic church may feel uncomfortable with Jesus and Almighty Father's constant mentions and worship, but that is because she has her suspicions in a safe place It does not mean that you should not think that even her full doubt. The lack of contact with the liturgy is not a deterrent, but welcome to the spiritual community should not be welcomed. Also, because it supports other teams, you should not be popular with friends' super bowl parties.
The Bible, Jesus Christ, is a radical person with a radical message to change the lives of people in a radical way. In the Bible, Jesus is not safe. Nobody knows how to go out with him. Liberals say he is too conservative, conservatives call him too free. His first miracle is to turn water into wine. He made a whip of the leather and put UFC on those who pulled the father's temple. He completely ignores any social, gender or ethnic boundaries imposed by his society. - Jefferson Beth, Jesus
