The 1960’s: Decade of Disillusionment

In the 1960s and early 1970s it was an era when American culture and humanity changed forever. In fact, this is an era known for peace and love, and many ethnic minorities strive for equality and freedom. Meanwhile, the young generation opposed traditional norms, insisted on questioning power and the government, and providing more freedom for ethnic minorities. Furthermore, a huge movement began to oppose the Vietnam War. The civil rights movement and the youth culture call for equality and the war in Vietnam is trying to test the loyalty of the people.
Although historians tend to portray the 1950s as a decade of prosperity, integration, and consensus, the 1960s was a decade of confusion, protest, and disillusionment. However, these stereotypes are basically correct, they are exactly the same as everything in life, there are exceptions to this perspective. Therefore, historians' explanations in the 1950s and 1960s are accurate for most Americans, but obviously there are exceptional groups. For various reasons, the 1950s was explained as a decade of prosperity and obedience. The first and most common of these reasons is development in the suburbs. As southern blacks moved to the northernmost major cities, wealthier middle class families leave the suburbs, escaped from the crime of the city, made plunder and blockade. This extensive transition was later called "White Flight" (Document A).
In the 1960's, protest songs were more popular than protest songs of the past decades. Political music existed before the 1960s, but these protest songs often only attract small groups of society. For this reason, protest songs did not become widespread in most of the protest music, especially in the labor movement during the 1960s. The example of Pete Seeger (above figure) shows most of the political songs in the labor movement as it aims to become a weapon used by members for strikes and meetings. Therefore, it is almost unattractive among other environments or non-solidarity members. This limits the applicability of songs and has the effect of reducing their popularity.
The fashion trend from the 1960s to 1960 changed the style of 10 years. Trends are fashion, food, shoes, and hair. The famous fashion in the 1960s was a cashmere turtleneck, a colorful wide tie, a Ralph Polo brand, and a mini skirt ("Writer's Dream Tools 60's"). These include sweat pants, fun fur, raincoats, pierced earrings, Coco Chanel brands, combined two-piece suit, stretch pants ("Writer's Dream Tools 60's").
