If music is being used to convey protest actions, how is it done? There are several very important questions in creating protest music. First, how is politics music or political expression in music? Is it related to political function, or is it related to its own structure, expression and rule? Is music politics without words? Can you make music politic without resorting to the clear meaning of the words? In a relatively early and few attempts to define protest music, Serge Denisoff (1968) classified the protest song from a theoretical point of view and presented a functional model of the protest. Whether it is individualism or part of a political movement, the function of political protest is an important factor in judging whether songs or certain kinds of music are political.
In the 1960 's, politics and music were closely related. Military warfare like the Vietnam War and student protest actions occurred simultaneously with a large and more popular campaign of political protest music. Protest music can be said to be caused by political events and thoughts, but protest music is an important part of culture, there are also reasons to believe that in the 1960s it will lead to many political events. For this reason it is impossible to draw conclusions that lead to other things in particular. In addition, all protest songs can be used to discuss the theory of causality. Protest Music and politics were deeply intertwined during this period, so they did not completely cause counterparts. But both contribute to social impact, which in turn leads to political events and protest music.
