Zero By Paul Logan, I’m Just Me by Lylah Alphonse, and The Jacket by Gary Soto

The first unit of our textbook "Interaction between Anne Mosley and Janet Harris" talks about the concept of self. Finding the definition of self-concept is difficult. Because it identifies beliefs about race, religion, and personality. There are reading materials of many authors showing this struggle with this unit in this unit. Self identity, ethnic background, and self-esteem are the main aspects of these readings. After reading their work I found out that they have something to do with their experiences.

Abstract Gary Soto talks about the story of his youth. He remembered the enthusiasm to get a new jacket when I left the old jacket. Soto's perfect jacket vision is black leather cycling style jacket. Soto grew up at the San Joaquin Valley and learned that tremendous work will be rewarded by moving the lawn, picking the grapes, painting the house, washing the cars. - "Orange", Gary Soto celebrates the love and affection of a 12 year old boy to his girl in the winter. The first line of poetry clearly shows that the boy was 12 years old when he was able to walk the street with the girl for the first time. This poem illustrates the tension they showed when they walked down the street.
