Robert Pirsig, author of the influential philosophical novel "Zen and Motorcycle Maintenance" in the 1970s died at the age of 88.
Editor-in-chief of publisher William Morrow & Co, Peter Hubbard, said Pirsig's wife, Wendy, confirmed his death at the main state's home.
After being rejected by more than 100 publishers, Zen and motorcycle maintenance art, it was published in 1974, the story of the father about American West motorcycle tour. Loose autobiography, this also includes flashback of author's schizophrenic diagnosis
This book soon became a best seller. Pilschig said his hero is trying to solve the contradiction between "mechanical classical values (such as motorcycles) and romantic values (such as the beauty of country roads)."
Born in Minneapolis, Pirsig has a high IQ and a 15 year high school graduate. He got a philosophical degree and served as a technical writer and a lecturer in English before he was hospitalized for psychosis in the early 1960s.
A long-standing personal experience including his philosophical thinking and his eldest son Christopher and his trip to the western United States of America in 1968 formed the core of the story of the novel.
Prior to the announcement in 1991, Pirsig worked as a sequel to "Lila: Ethics Survey" for 17 years. This story follows a voyage journey of two fictional figures on the east coast of the United States of America.
Pirsig has lived in Maine State South Berwick for the past 30 years. His wife Wendy, founded by two children and three grandchildren. His son Chris died in 1979
Robert Pirschig's Zen and Motorcycle Maintenance Art is a cultural symbol of literature. This book, written for the past half century, was taken over by a father (talker) and his younger brother on a summer bike trip across the northwestern part of the United States. The narrator has an old bike, he usually diagnoses himself and fixes, and most drivers do not learn how to repair the bike, but rely on professional technicians to repair it . In my opinion, this book explores the lessons learned from philosophy and metaphysical methods of polishing your crafts. Motorcycle maintenance incorporates problem solving analysis and emotional processes understood by the most successful founder. This is the most important thing. Especially when you prepare your startup for a list of fundingable and often frightening terms. In a sense, the glossary may be as complex as repairing a motorcycle.
Zen and motorcycle repair art - this book is presented as a novel - a story of a father and a son riding a motorcycle in the country. What is hidden in it is a classic and romantic way of thinking, how philosophy helps us to think clearly, and a decent overview of the history of Western philosophy. Cheating devils - I think most self-help books are generally a waste of time. Even so, Napoleon Hill's Outwitting The Devil is the most recommended type of my type. As a discussion with the devil, Hill explores politics, organized religion, school education, and ways we can not clarify it, and then suggests action plans to overcome these goals .
