Youth Gangs

Longevity of social problems has become a reasonable starting point when discussing and exploring young gangs. In early 1830, Charles Dickens' Olivet (1999) described that young people are walking around the city of London together. Before thinking about the current state of youth gang, we first need to focus on the simplicity of the meaning of the term "youth gang." Furthermore, there is a trend related to the spread and development of the youth gang in the United States.

Since 1980, the rapid increase of youth groups has exacerbated fears and misunderstandings of the general public against youth organizations. To cope with growing concerns about youth gangs, the Young Gang series of the Youth Judicial Crime Prevention Bureau (OJJDP) is exploring many important issues related to youth gangs.
