Yolngu Boy is a traditional movie that conveys the stories of three young people, Lorrpu, Milika, Botj. (Johnson, S 2001) This movie points out obstacles that young people face, such as pressure from peers, pursuit of identity, and conflict among them. However, three of them have the same dream of becoming a great hunter. (Villella, F.A 2001) But it is difficult to achieve a dream. After 6 months, Botj was just recovered from motorcycle detention. Milica actively participates in Australian football and is interested in girls, fame, cars.
Located in the Northern Territory Goove Peninsula, Yolngu Boy depicts the struggle of three teenage boys. This film explores the attempts of boys trying to cope with the pressure of living under the two laws of one country and the dual pressures of following cultural background as part of the materialistic society doing. When they crossed the jungle, the three boys reached different conclusions about their way of living. As they keep walking through the countryside, they become more closely related to the land and its traditional lifestyle. This transformation is visually mapped through its ever-changing look and feel and a great sequence. Yolngu Boy is faithful and sometimes confronted and offers amazing insight into the lives of modern Australians.
