1. Let your students join Jane Yolan at myth generation workshop at http://teacher.scholastic.com/writewit/mff/mythswshop_index.htm.
Are your students making books of their ABC myths or they just completed that unit?
Day 1: Let's access the above website and introduce it as a course. Tell me what the myth is: a story that explains the phenomenon of nature in a creative way. Discuss some of the myths they read or the myths you read in class. Proceed to step 1 and read and discuss myths written by Jane
From 2nd to 6th: Let your students select and explore different brainstorming steps every day to make work progress. First choose their natural phenomenon and find a picture of it. Let me list everything they already know. We will also perform one procedure per day to gather information about what you want to write.
From 7th to 10th: We will continue the procedure for students to write down myths. Give them sufficient time to write myths and edit them. Let them teach them a fun way to show myths to classes to them
Remind students to write stories using narrative techniques (eg, conversation, personality, motivation). I will review the writing of stories as necessary. Write your own mythical instructions and title to guide the students to write your own myth. Let's start telling stories to students. Say: Please consider why the problem happens (eg why butterflies have feathers?). Students have to do two peer edits after writing the story. The story is graded based on the title. To extend this challenge, you can ask the students to create pop-up books using Myths Popup's book description and title. Students must find the climax of the story they wrote. They have to have two companions
Your current job is to dream and write your own myth. You need to include some gods, goddesses or other characters we studied. You can include your own character. Before you start writing, you need to make some decisions about the following categories. You may decide to create a web to organize your thoughts or create your own other graphical organizer, but you do not need to do this. However, before you start writing you need to answer the following questions. What is the purpose of your myth? _____ Explanation of the unexplained _____ To understand the profound philosophical question (the question is _________________) _____ Hello tell me the story Who is your role? (Carefully consider limiting the number of letters you have. The too many characters = not enough development for each letter, the reader will be confused.) The setting includes time and place
