World War I in Photos: A Century Later

On June 28, 2014, it celebrated the 100th anniversary of the assassination of Daimyo Franz Ferdinand. Assassin Gabrielo opened the first shot of a bloody massacre lasting years ago. The revolution that happened in Russia and Germany arbitrarily redefines the borders, builds the foundation of decades of conflict, demands for strict compensation, the rise of Nazi · Germany and the outbreak of World War II It caused it. World War I continued until today - in March 2014, two Belgian construction workers were killed when suffering in the century of unexploded shells. Bomb processing equipment in France and Belgium handles large amounts of shells found every year. The events of World War I have now lost their memory of their lives, but the wrecks still remain - scars with scars, tens of thousands of monuments, artifacts preserved in museums, inherited for many years A story - a story of loss. I collected photographs of war from dozens of collections. Some of them were first digitized. And I tried to convey the conflict, the people involved in it, and how much it affected the world. After my trip, after checking my photo, I came across 2 pictures. One of them was a large and beautiful Søfartsmonumentet which was used for the fall of the Danish merchant navy seafarer during World War I (which I discovered later), in which Denmark It was neutral. The second picture above is a memorial to the statues of Danish and Allied soldiers and women who fell during the Second World War. The name of this statue has not been found yet, but it is not even marked near the king 's gate or in the Google map. After a disappointing dinner (this is a better memorial with a bad Yelp comment), I went to Tivoli Gardens, and the Christmas market welcomed the carnival. It will soon be a highlight of this trip. I walked about an hour or so, I strolled through a vast park, drank a light and a laugh, I jumped in.

Needless to say, World War I was the first modern war, but it tends to forget the meaning of 100 years ago. The size and character of the First World War is unprecedented and it was also shocking for Americans who experienced a civil war half a century ago. Many veterans are plagued by trench experience, but the US and military culture do not promote trauma on the battlefield. Shell shock is considered a mental illness, a result of paralysis, a shameful illness. In this environment, Stubby Sergeant is the ideal hero of the First World War. Because he is an ideal of perseverance. He is a lively little animal that is going out to participate in the parade, appears at the occasion of politician and military brass photographs, and promises to stay in the news.
