Works and Days by Hesiod

Between 750 and 600 BC, the Greek poet Hesiod published the most ancient Greek poem. During this period Greece was in the midst of the era of ancient times, technical, social, political and cultural innovation. This is the first true period of the alphabet system which allowed Hesiod and other poets such as him to permanently record a system of verbal story and lyrics which is very important for Greek culture.
