"Love can not exist alone - it does not make sense, love has to take action, actions are service." - Mother Theresa. A toy ran through the room and hit the wall. A cry of blood came from the room and my eyes rushed to a small body spreading beyond the carpet. My body throws and turns, I am kicking my arms and legs. This dilemma seems to get in the way for some people but it is a normal night for me for OEP. Last year, I had the opportunity to volunteer with OEP, children with special needs and their brothers and sisters.
what? In high school, I work with students with special needs every week. This is a part of the job of taking leadership. These students need help in the class; of course, the kids who need special needs are a bit different. Not everyone will learn in the same way, so we need to understand how everyone will learn. We need to understand how to help these students through a one-on-one experience. But, apart from that, the theory has arisen because it is necessary to know the basis of what actually happens so that you can see what is effective and what is not effective. For the problem that the marginalized group changes and is structurally equivalent, you should not act so fast, first you should understand what is going on inside the group. Social change in society happens when teachers and educators try to understand the way people behave and behave and understand the way they know.
Best Buddies is a club of my school that builds friendship between people like me and students of special support department. My best friend Luke Humble changes my life every day. Luke is a 20 year old student of Chaparral with Down Syndrome. Luke is not the fastest speaker, but I found a way to communicate effectively with the text in face to face. But Luke is not in my class, I am not sitting in my lunch, and I will not see him all day. We are not playing on the same sports team, nor are we living together.
