"Since plantation, artists have touched new teaching materials for the first time, learned about new tools, have enthusiastically accepted the challenge of black poetry, black songs, black scholarships" The number is 11 million to 15 million. One of the lasting contributions of the Engineering Progress Authority is the Federal Writers Project. The FWP (Federal Writers Project) employs writers, teachers, and others to summarize information on every aspect of American life. One of the most important dictation history gathered by FWP writers is the story of former slaves. The slave's story includes an interview with nearly 2,300 Americans who were formerly slaves. The story keeps track of their experiences as slaves, their memories of the historical stories their ancestors told them, and their memories of newly acquired freedoms. Transcribed to FWP writers, including dialects and proverbs, the story usually only contains short observations by the author. For example, half of Native Americans born with slavery, half of black Americans James Green was released, then abducted and sold to Texas slavery.

The main direction of FWP is American history based on the witness's oral story. It consists of a group of scholars, artists and writers who interviewed various people across the country for historical interviews. One of the questions the respondent wants to talk about is slavery. Most slaves talk about their owners, how they handle them, and they will play their family
