Women's Inferior Status in The Bible

The first Corinthians 14: 34 says, "Let women keep silence in the church, because speaking is not allowed," it is recognized as the greatest female classicist " Edith Hamilton says that the only book that regarded women as human beings before this century is the Bible. But this book is not always beneficial for women. Although it may not be absolute, from the personal point of view, there are many examples in the Bible that show women's inferiority complex to men.

Through marriage of children, murder of women's children, through sale of children, Indian women are being oppressed. Because this pressure forced the women to be inferior to men's position, it seems that they have fallen into a vicious circle and the status of women is getting worse. In India, the tradition of marriage of children is everywhere. A child's marriage is a marriage between an elderly male and a female under the age of 18. As a result of the dowry, the bride's family often needs to pay a gross money to the groom's family, and the girl is slanderred (Lawson, 2001).

According to a socialist perspective, the inferiority status of women lies in private property and class hating society. Ideology and family structure of gender discrimination places women at a disadvantage from society. Suppression involves exploitation, but it reflects complex reality. It is essential for socialist feminists to understand the work of the social hierarchical order in the class structure. They also feel that overthrowing the capitalist system itself does not mean a change in patriarchal ideology. At the same time it is necessary to organize struggle against capitalism and patriarchy.
