Women of the Epics

In epic women Homer's epic, women are respected by travel and soldiers. These women are considered beautifully and cultivate humans. Most deadly women of Homer 's "Iliad" are known for their loyal wives and for their mothers very much. These women take care of children like Odysseus 'mother when Odysseus' mother needs confidence and peace of mind. After the mother of Odysseus died, she came back from the shadows of the underworld to tell Odysseus, "Your wife is crying for your return, leave your kingdom intact." (90) This gives Odysseus the confidence to go back to Ithaca's hometown and start over.

This epic lady is undoubtedly powerful - without the help of Athena, Nausicaa, Alette or Eno, Odysseus will never return to the coast of Ithaca. However, women are also very dangerous and threaten the main character's journey.
