Women in The Fabliaux

The women depicted in Fabliaux have certain distinctive features. In "Les Quatre Sohais Saint-Martin", "Chevalier who talked" and "Mirror's prologue and story" medieval women are drawn as well. Women are imaginative and therefore need to control their mind. At Fabliaux, they also crave sex and are making creative thinking. These three Fabliaux texts introduce similar women and represent a general perception of women at the time.

These three Fabliaux women are also very interested in sex. The general idea at the time was that women were dry and needed sex and men's moisture to supplement them. In "Les Quatre Sohais Saint-Martin", farmer's woman wanted to work her husband at once. She does not want to be in a better position in terms of life, wealth, beauty, and health. Her top priority is her sexuality. Her husband was a wise voice before she noticed her wish. He knew that her wish was sexual, and he told her she had to think carefully about everything. She neglected the warning and expressed it sexually in some way.
