"Bones in winter" is a mysterious title. Daniel Woodell, the author of the book on which this movie is based, believes that snow is casting on Ree, a variety of gifts in winter. The ending gave Ree a faint light of bone and hope. However, the ambiguity, sorrow, despair of the movie are aligned with the light of hope and redemption in parallel with life. We humans are unpredictable. But even in our complexity our hearts will not be warmed by this slight "Ree" sun.

The movie "Winter Bone" is an independent movie produced by the Ozark Mountains in Missouri Province, covering the lives, methods and means of mountain people, especially the Dooly clan. The movie explores the fate of Lee Dolly and his family. Her father disappeared and used the family's house as a fee for release from prison.
