Microsoft Windows 98 Microsoft Windows 98 is an operating system that was formerly Windows 95. An operating system is an interface between you and a computer that helps you manage files and simplify and use your personal computer. This version is not as large as Windows 95, but Windows 98 includes important updates, fixes and support for new peripherals. Features such as enhanced protection and excellent support make Windows 98 a high quality upgrade. Windows 95 supports PnP (Plug and Play), but a new file system called FAT32 is used to utilize the free space of the hard disk.

These problems began to occur shortly after Microsoft released the Windows 98 operating system. In order to support the look and feel of Windows 98, Microsoft Internet Explorer is integrated with the operating system and becomes a major component of Windows 98. Therefore, the default Internet browser is Internet Explorer. Some users do not like this. Netscape Communications Corporation (also known as Netscape) is surprised at this problem. They claim that Windows 98 users will be forced to use Internet Explorer and will use the user who wants to use Netscape. A few months later, Microsoft and Netscape finally reached a settlement.
