William Hodges opened the imagination of Europe in the South China Sea in the 18th century. His exotic beauty lit the desire for heaven, changed the perception of the European world beyond Europe, and led to the surge of Western imperialism (Quilley 2004, 1-4). Marking the starting point from the classical landscape tradition is Hodges' air technology incorporating a mysterious image into the outdoor natural light and the rich and impressive beauty unique to the Southern Hemisphere.
Beth Hodges (born 1938) is a lesbian feminist professor, consultant and artist who teaches English at William and Mary College (1966-1969) and French at Fort Hays Kansas State University (1969-1977). In the mid 1970s, she became increasingly involved in the movement of feminists and lesbian, in August 1975, especially in editing the margin special issue written for feminism of lesbians. Her position at Hesburg became unsustainable due to her hostility towards lesbian feminism. She moved east and lived in Jacksonville, Florida and Boston.

Since 1792, Gray has established the sea otter fur trading. Rui and Clark 's expedition team entered the state on October 10, 1805.
