William Golding´s Lord of the Flies: Portrayal of Evil within Mankind

A Canadian journalist and Major Edward Morrison of the First World War once said that "If there is a devil in this world it is inherent in mankind." Basically, Mo Lissen said that there is evil in the world, and it exists in the hearts of each of us. Morrison's idea is reflected in William Golding's "Flies of the Lord". In the novel, a group of boys in the UK were isolated on a single deserted island without adults. The boys were frightened by imaginary beasts, but there were no real beasts.
