Will Kymlicka and the disappearing Dominion

The concept of social culture is the main concept used by Canadian philosopher Kymlicka. To understand this, consider the contribution of Kymlicka to two types of sources of diversity present in modern society; for Kymlicka there are two diversity: multi ethnic minorities and minorities. Kymlicka uses the term pluralism to refer to the diversity of immigrants. The minority of a multiethnic group refers to what is usually defined as a racial group. According to him, multi ethnic groups are not usually geographically concentrated, they are scattered in the countries where they emigrated. In addition, Kymlicka insists that they do not usually want to be isolated from most people's culture, but rather they want to integrate with them and to demand policies to give them equal citizenship. For example, these groups need language rights, voting rights, parliamentary seats, etc.

According to Kymlicka, the multi ethnic group is not culture, he says that only the country is culture. Kymlicka (1995, p.18) uses the term "country" in the same meaning as terms such as culture, human, social culture (for example, "culture" as a synonym of "country" or "citizen" using). - It is occupying a particular area or house, sharing a distinctive language and history, as an intergenerational community, more or less institutionally impaired. According to Kymlicka, the minority group is a social group with a social culture and fewer members than the majority. Therefore, ethnic minorities are social cultures with fewer members than members.
