Wildlife Research and Collection

Wildlife research licenses and collection permits are required for persons (individuals, institutions or agencies) engaged in wildlife research or collection in Alberta.

Please submit the application at least 30 days before the start date of the proposed survey or collection activity

Since 2017, wildlife research licenses and collection licenses are released on a calendar year basis, licenses / licenses expire on December 31st and can not be renewed until January 1 of the following year. If you start working early in January please contact us to discuss options

For multi-year projects, if you plan to continue the project next year, you will need to renew the license.

Benjamin Robb, a graduate student of the Wyoming Cooperative Fish Wildlife Research Department, collected and produced animation of the data as part of the master's research on interaction between prong horn and Interstate-80.
