Why We Should Read Great Literature

Why should we read the great literature of Western culture, many literary works called great literature are different. What can make a work into a wonderful literary work, why should you read it? Mortimer Adler is one of the most important American philosophers of the 20th century and the founder of the famous Great Books List. According to Adler, all great literature meets three criteria. Work is closely related to modern life, worth reading again, and includes "great thinking". Some people like to read, others do not like to read. All great literature is well written, but not all written literary works are so. In other words, there are lots of good books, but not so good - many of them are worth reading for several reasons. For many people, Phantom of the Opera is Ron Chiny, Claude Rains, Universal Studios, and Hummer Horror. (There are also worse.) "Phantom of the Opera" is a 1911 novel written by Ghoston Rouro, a ghost of a story declared as forgotten. The invisible fix that bothed it was ironic and vague, lost its heritage and was tragic with its victory. (This book is always good.)
