Why was John Glenn Famous

My historical character is John Glen. He was born in Ohio on July 18, 1921, and still lives in Ohio, Ohio, part time. John Glen is an important part of history and these are some of what he did to achieve this goal. (1) John Glenn served as the new Concord High School. John Glenn was born in Cambridge, Ohio on July 18, 1921 and is a pipeline contractor for John Herschel Glenn and Clara Sproat Glenn.
