Why the 4th and 5th Crusades Ended in Failure

The fourth crusade and the fifth crusade started by Pope Innocent III ended in failure. These Crusades failed because of the power, influence and lack of support of the Pope 's power. In 1198, the recently elected Pope Inocent III began to promote another crusade, the third Crusade left Muslim leader Saladin and dominated Jerusalem.

Attempts to recover the sacred place during the second century have resulted in failure. After the first crusade there were six major crusades and many less important crusaders. After the last Catholic post collapsed in 1291, there was no further crusade, but the benefits of northern Europe and western Europe became longer. The Wendish Crusade and Archbishop Bremen placed all the northeastern Baltic states and tribes of Mecklenburg and Rustier under Catholic rule in the second half of the 12th century. In the beginning of the 13th century, the Knights of Germany established a crusader country in Prussia, and the French principal used the Albi crusade to extend the kingdom into the Mediterranean. The rise of the Ottoman Empire in the late 14th century caused a Catholic reaction that led to a further failure of 1396 by Nikopolis and Varna in 1444.

After the fourth crusade did not enter Constantinople or arrive in Jerusalem, Innocent III launched its first campaign against the French cattle and the state of Toulouse, the heathen, Albigensian Crusade. In the early decades of this century the cartel was deported to the ground and the French monarchy dominated the area. Andrew II in Hungary began the Bosnian Crusade for a long time against the Bosnian church, theological Catholics, but against the Roman Catholic church. The conflict was terminated only when the Mongolians invaded Hungary in 1241. In the Iberian Peninsula, orders to help the Knights of Templars, hospitals and Iberia, merged with Order of Calatrava and Order of San Diego, were issued under the crusade's privilege.
