Why Slavery Prospered in the South but not in the North

Slavery is more prosperous in the south than in the north. Many people want to know why this is happening. There are several reasons for this. Firstly, in the south additional workers are needed to run farms and plantations. Another reason they have slaves is that they increase the size of the army.
