Why Literacy Matters

We will read and learn, experience our world and protect ourselves - simply send a fulfilling life. Thus, literacy skills are the basic skills necessary to make life a success, but the 450,000 residents living in San Diego County do not have basic reading skills. In Words Alive, our goal is to change the lives of children and families in our community by nurturing love for reading and not being counted in this number.
