Why do we need to be media and information literate?

Media: You must be able to read various media for a variety of purposes - the most obvious is to be notified. So, what is this related to media literacy? In my way of thinking - everything. Having media literacy means that we can access, analyze and evaluate the information we receive through the media. Media literacy is the ability to create media messages and use the technical tools we can use. This means that we can think critically and talk with confidence. For me, having a media culture society is the essence of building a democratic society and a market economy. It has the ability to enhance and protect our precious liberty. It assumes us, people are smart, capable and responsible. If we are responsible, we will strengthen the expectation that other people should fulfill their responsibilities. It assumes that learning is a lifelong process, not just specific areas of textbooks and demographics.

IML is a combination of information literacy and media literacy. The purpose of information and media literacy is to participate in the digital society; people must be able to understand, explore, create, communicate and think critically. It is important to effectively access, organize, analyze, evaluate, and create all kinds of news. The transformational nature of IML includes creative work and creation of new knowledge, and ethical, cultural and social understanding is necessary to publish and collaborate in a responsible manner.
