Why delhi metro station lights are kept on at night?

I believe that they are for security, anti-theft, so any criminal can enter the subway at night, cameras can see at least them

Delhi Metro's safety has been handled by the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) that has protected the system since it was handed over to the Delhi police in 2007.
