Who Am I in This Story? The Power of Voice in Creative Nonfiction

At the university, I joined the professor in nonfiction composition class and introduced creative nonfiction. I wrote several articles, one of them concerning the wait list. I can not really write some good things anymore. I will be a teacher - I am not a writer. That's why I stopped writing. After I got married, I found a blog written by a young lady of my age. Her voice is clear, strong and interesting. Her posting is resonating with me. I think that I can do it - I can write, but I can not. I am always too busy. I focus too much on what I have to do. I am not a writer. So I have no time to write

My culture and family are always a source of inspiration. It started with undergraduate students. I took a creative writing class and we were asked to write a short story for the semester nonfiction part. I wrote an article about Buji, El Cuco of Dominica / Puerto Rico. My grandparents were calling me when my brothers and sisters did not function properly. Before some competitions, I felt that I needed to write like a novel I saw in classrooms and libraries. As literature changes, the situation will be better, but not so diverse. Instead of living in a big house using public transport, you have to write down what you saw in other books about students who went to school by a yellow bus. At that time, I was eager for a story. I lived in New York and recently finished the first year of Creative Nonfiction Masters. I still do not have tools for shaping stories from ideas, landscapes, invisible stones. However, in Moab, I think there are several things worth pursuing, from the uranium boom to depression and tourism boom, the city may be the place the artist wants to move. The first trip brought a longer stay because I began making a writing project focusing on what I learned - a project I imagined as being a book.
