What Started the Trojan War

The Trojan war began today, and most of the information on the history of ancient Greece is in the literature. The epic epics of Iliad and Odyssey from the unknown poet Homer make up most of the literary works that have even been discovered from this age. The problem of getting our history from literary sources is that when Homer recites his Iliad for the first time, he is actually entertaining, so even if it is based on actual events, all information It may not be accurate.

In a nutshell, "Iliad" is a story of the Trojan horse war. The war over ten years started with the Greek Union known as Achaeans and left Troy and its surrounding areas after leaving. They did this because Paris, the prince of Troy, stole Helen from her husband Menelaus from Troy. Menelaus' brother Agamemnon organized the rulers from inside Greece, brought the man and attacked the Trojan horse. They did this to regain Helen and other failures. We can guess that a Trojan horse war has taken place. But, if the Trojan horse war really happened, how did it fight? What was the cause? To answer these questions, we begin with Homer and then we examine all the details based on our understanding of late Bronze Age. I will take the length of the war as an example. Homer said the Trojan War had lasted ten years; to be precise, he said that Troy Greeks fought in suffering for 9 years, and suffered and eventually won the tenth place . However, these figures should not be understood literally. Among many other reasons, in the ancient Near East there was the expression "9 times, then 1/10." This means "repeat until the end." Like today's English, the expression "19" means "normal" rather than literally. Homer is very likely to use long-term expressions to show that Trojan war lasted for a long time.
