What is wrong with our public education. President Clinton said in a North Korea speech that Japan is progressing in the right direction, the economy is steady, the national budget is balanced, and more employment opportunities are being created. However, this is not good news especially in public education. When we announced the results of the national exam, Clinton sorry to us that we are again below average. Unfortunately, this situation is too familiar. Since the 1960s or the 1970s most schools in the day have not been renewed or refurbished.

In the past nine months, the 21st Century Board of Education reviewed the state public education system and discussed the best strategy to improve opportunities for all children and students in the state. The ever-changing economy now requires higher education for all residents. The current state of our educational system demands that we participate in this change: from students and parents to educators, school staff and managers, business leaders and local residents.

Michigan's best successful education system will educate the people of Michigan to build the best business, win the best work and realize the blueprint of the US president's blueprint.

We need to talk about current funding sources for public education. Today, state-funded public schools teach three Rs. Reading, writing, and arithmetic. Please do not misunderstand what I am saying, but there are many courses that are not suitable for these simple categories. Examples of these other courses include teaching children how to deal with success, how to deal with failures, how to become a leader, how to communicate, and how to work together. These courses are not only taught in the classroom, it is also very important for human success. So where can students learn these important life lessons? The answer is athletics
