What Makes a Good Story? Tips for Young Authors

One theme is the important thing the story is telling us - this may be useful for our own life. Not all stories have themes, but that is excellent

It is not too rational. Develop the theme from the story and make the readers feel what they have learned for themselves. You should not say something about morals.

The plot is about the conflict and struggle that the hero usually experienced. Conflict may be related to something in character, such as other personality, way of thinking, need or feeling.

The hero should not be rescued merely by someone or someone else but should at least partly win or lose oneself. In most cases, trying to solve the problem, the character learns or grows. It is the theme that the character learned

Contradiction should become increasingly nervous or exciting. Tension reaches the highest point at the end of the story, or "climax", then should be restful

The basic steps of the plot are as follows. The beginning of conflict, what is going well, what goes wrong, the last victory (or failure), and the summary. You can repeat the correct error procedure

I decided to write a story with "first person" or "third person". The third person pronoun is "he", "she", "it" - so writing a third person means all things about other people to tell the story. First person pronoun is "I". Therefore, writing first person means that storytelling is something like what happens to you.

Even if you are a third-party writer, try to tell the story through the eyes of the character - probably the hero. Please do not say anything the character does not know. This is called a "point of view". If you have to say something else please create completely different part from the perspective of other characters.

I decide whether to write "now" or "past tense". Writing in the past can mean writing as if a story had happened. This is the way most story is written. It seems that I am writing now that I write it as current. Stick to whether you are nervous!

Your primary role should be commonality, or at least those who care about it, that the reader can feel.

You do not need to fully explain the role. One or two is enough for the character's appearance, behavior, and way of saying.

The hero should have at least one defect or weak point. Perfect characters are not that fascinating. They are also more difficult to feel related or related to them. They have nothing to learn. Likewise, there should be at least one thing about "bad guys".

Please quote directly and give a speech like "Go away!" Instead of an indirect mention like "She told him to leave."

I do not need to write it well so I can write it well. You can use simple words or simple sentences. As you can see, your sentences are easy to read and understand.

Always use the best word - Use the word closest to you, produce the best sound and create the most distinct image. If you can not think of the correct one, please use the thesaurus.

Please reconfirm each word, phrase, sentence, paragraph. Is this the best you wrote? Are you in the right place? Do you need it? Otherwise take it out!
