What is world history? Bruce Mazrish thinks that the history of "the world" is a systematic process to study the interactions between different countries as opposed to the "world" history. In contrast, the "global" history is the history of globalization, Mazlish believes that this process began to occur on a large scale at least in the 1950s and more reasonably in the 1970s. Nicholas Christoph said to famous economists that steamships, telegraphs, railroads, Europe, North America, and Japanese empire builders actually started globalization in the second half of the nineteenth century. It is an intensive place.

Understanding the past seems to be a universal human needs, and historical stories appear independently in civilizations around the world. What constitutes history is a philosophical problem (see historical philosophy). The earliest chronology goes back to Mesopotamia and ancient Egypt, but historical writers in these early civilizations have no name. The ancient Greeks have experienced a systematic historical thinking and this development has had a significant influence on the historic writing of other parts of the Mediterranean. The earliest and most famous historical work was historical, consisting of Hericotus of Halicarnassus (484 BC - 425 BC), later known as the "father of history" (Cicero). Herodotus attempts to distinguish increasingly unreliable accounts, conducts direct surveys through extensive travel, and offers a variety of Mediterranean culture records.

Herodotus and Thucydides invented the history of Western European countries, or at least that work. Prior to Herodotus, the Greeks did not have any information about history in the prose of prose in terms of stories of past events. Therefore Roman writer Shikero who called Herodotus "father of history" is right. Herodotus may be the first historian in the West, but Tucidides was the first contemporary historian. He explained the cause of the incident, analyzed political trends such as revolution, and evaluated leaders like pellicle. Furthermore, like today's historian, he searches the truth strictly and throws out information that can not be verified.

Herodotus is the "father of history", according to some people, that is, "father of lies". As discipline, history starts with the history of Herodotus, the first systematic investigation of the past. Obviously, "History" includes the double defeat of the Greeks to the Persian War, the Persian king Darius and the powerful forces of Zelkus, but Herodotus' work is not limited to the story of conflict. It includes geography, gossip, god, even even arithmetic. As a master of storytelling, Herodotus won historical audiences not only in his era but in all his eras. Since he invented history, historians have not documented it and have not passed since the century.
